Advice for installation of lawn turf
El tepe se puede poner en cualquier época del año, pero tenga en cuenta que es un producto perecedero así que no tarde mucho en instalarlo.
Lawn turf may be laid at any time of year, but bear in mind that it is a perishable product and so there should not be a delay before laying it.
For correct laying of the turf, follow these instructions:
- Measure the surface area so that there is sufficient lawn turf to cover it.
- Prepare the ground using a rotavator to get rid of weeds, stones etc. Failing that, put down a layer of 10cm or 15cm of moss peat.
- Check the watering equipment.
- Pay attention to water outlets and drainage in the event of excessive watering or storms.
- It is advisable to use a fertilizer, preferably a biological one and to use a roller to level the ground.
- The lawn turf sods are laid as if they were strips or carpets. There should be no gaps between them as this may cause the lawn to dry out.
- If there are gaps, they can be filled with peat or sand.
- Use a roller once or twice to settle the sods and to even them out. Once the lawn turf has been laid, use a roller to level the sods and eliminate air-pockets.
- When the lawn has been laid, water it thoroughly.
- Mow the lawn after 15 days. Before mowing, leave it for one night without watering for an optimal cut.
Important care:
- In order to prevent the roots drying out, it is important to lay the lawn either on the day of delivery or the next day.
- If it is not laid on the day of delivery, keep the turf rolled up and with the roots protected.
- If the time exceeds 2 days, we recommend you look for a cool and shaded place to store the lawn turf.
- Once it has been laid, water the lawn very well on a daily basis. Take care no water is accumulating as this may cause the grass to rot.
- Do not allow more than 15 days to pass before the first cut.
- Use fertilisers every two months to help the lawn take root.
- Watch out for puddles.
- Watch the growth of the grass. Do not delay cutting it in order to maintain the quality of the mix of seeds.
